DIRECTOR: Jessica Hackett

  • 4 year Division 1 scholarship player at Siena College
  • 3 consecutive years MAAC Champions (’05,’06,’07)
  • 3 consecutive All-MAAC Award Winner (’05,’06,’07)
  • A 4 time All-League and All-Section Award winner, as well as an All-State Setter who helped take Pawling High School to the NYS finals.
  • Played for two years with the national power-house Downstate Juniors 18U Volleyball Club.
  • After a stellar high school career in which she was highly recruited, Jessica signed with Siena College based on their successful volleyball tradition.
  • With Jessica’s skill, desire, and leadership qualities, Siena College went on to post 4 successful seasons that saw the Siena Saints obtain 3 consecutive (‘05,’06,’07) MAAC Championships and automatic bids to the Division 1 NCAA Volleyball Tournament
  • In 2 out of the 3 NCAA tournaments, Siena lost to the National Champions from that year (University of Washington in ’05, and Penn State in ’07).
  • After a very successful college career Jessica graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors from Siena College and has accepted a high school mathematics teaching position at Pawling High School. She will also be leading the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team as Head Coach.

SKILLS & DRILLS
Serving:
Precision techniques for overhand serving with introduction into jump serving.

Passing:
Receiving form and stance, movement to the ball and coverage zones and strategies, focusing on ball control.

Hitting/Blocking:
Proper fundamental positioning, which includes left side, right side, and middle approaches. Correct footwork and arm swing technique. Blocking foot-work, approach, and hand positioning for both single and double blocking, regardless of size or ability.

Setting:
Correct technique for hands and footwork to handle overhead passes and sets. From high sets, quick sets, shoot sets, and more, within an offensive strategy.

Digging:
Technique training for defensive movement, positioning, approach, to develop that “get every ball” mentality.

Lunch:
Lunch is available to purchase at our Sports Cafe. All campers have the choice of a nutritious hot or cold meal. A variety of desserts and fruits are also available. We will gladly refrigerate the lunches of those campers who wish to bring their own.

Cancellation Policy:
Prior to 8/1/08, payments will be refundable in full (minus a $50 cancellation fee). Cancellations made after 8/1/08 are non-refundable.
